Wonderful "AMY" aged Nine.
A special page for AMY's dream.
Amy
Nine-year-old Amy Jones is taking her love for dolphins one step further by raising money to help protect them in the wild.
Amy, has written three stories called Dolphy Save the Planet Bit by Bit about Dolphy, a dolphin who, with pals Surf and Wave, has magic powers to stop disasters such as oil slicks and marine litter.
Amy, who is keen to care for the environment, has always been interested in dolphins and has more than 100 keepsakes as well as dolphin duvet cover and curtains.
She said: "There's nothing not to like about them. They are so kind".
The Primary School pupil started writing stories afer her mother told her bedtime tales about Dolphy.
One of Amy's stories tells how Dolphy's friend nearly dies after mistaking a balloon for food and swallowing it, a problem which causes blockages in the animal's digestive system and often leads to death.
A recent survey from Beachwatch recorded an average of 1,981 items per kilometre on UK beaches, which is equivalent to one piece of litter every 50 centimetres, a 90 per cent increase compared to results from 1994.
Marine Conservation Society fundraising co-ordinator Katherine Stephenson believes it is a tragedy that wildlife suffers because of rubbish people leave behind and hopes that the stories will make people aware of the problem.
Amy's family are supportive of her hobby. Older brother Ross,12, has bought her dolphin themed birthday and Christmas presents and her mother Caroline is proud of her achievements she said: "She is fantastic".
Dolphin Care UK also think that this little girl is truely remarkable, she asks nothing for herself in return for what she is doing.
Amy thinks the world of dolphins, we agree with her the world would be a very sad place without them.
SUCCESSES SO FAR... Please make Amy's dream come true, follow the story so far.
GOOD NEWS FOR AMY.
Since the 21st of December we have been trying to get a publisher or Printer to release Amy's book.
Well the wait is now over and Amy's first book will be on sale very soon, thanks to WildGuides who have agreed to publish the book.
We have yet to sit down and discuss what is going to happen, but the book should be ready and available within six weeks
It has been a hard slog to get someone to publish this little girls book, but at last it will soon be available for all to read.
We did release it as an E Book but I could not settle for that alone, I knew we had to carry on trying to help fulfil Amy's dream.
Dolphy Saves the Planet will be ready soon, adults and children alike will love Amy's work.
