2007 The UN Year of The Dolphin Campaign.
Dolphin Care UK has chosen 2007 to concentrate on the "Dolphin Safe" logo on fish products sold in the UK.
For far to long dolphins have been killed in "Nets of Death" to put fish products on our plates.
This page will inform you of the suppliers of seafood who are buying products that have not involved dolphins being killed in the process.
This is a large undertaking on our behalf, but we are determined that 2007 should be the year that ALL suppliers of seafood to our tables should be buying their products from fisheries that are "Dolphin Safe". That is to say they have caught the seafood without any dolphins being killed.
We will be checking out your favorite supermarkets and their suppliers to make sure that they conform to the "Dolphin Safe" logo on their products.
We will list below, those that conform and those who do not. It will be your choice as to whether or not you buy from these companies.
But please bear in mind, those that conform have agreed that NO Dolphins were killed in catching your food.
Our challenge to supermarket bosses is clear: This is an urgent issue - your new sustainable seafood procurement policies must be implemented across the full range of seafood sold in your supermarkets, from cod fillets to tuna sandwiches they should all bear the "Dolphin Safe" logo. We are monitoring you right now.
